What is "Do Best With Waste"

Project Description

By observing the behavior of our school community, it was concluded that students produced a lot of recyclable garbage. For this reason, a Waste Management survey to evaluate students' readiness level was implemented, in cooperation with all partners. Nine hundred and thirty-eight participants from six different countries have decided the topic and examined needs. 110 Educators, 245 Parents and 583 Students have participated in our survey. The survey answers revealed individuals who don't use Waste Management adequately. The percentage of answers to consciousness measurement questions show that there is a need for projects that will guide people who are conscious about environmental pollution and waste management.
With this project it is intended to create awareness about utilization of waste by cooperating with different societies and adapting it to the education of students. One of the aims of our project is turning the environmental concern into their awareness and directing the students to have positive attitude towards Waste Management and a more sustainable future live. It is important to motivate students towards the importance of recycling, passing information through their experience to families and community. In addition, we aim to change attitudes and mentalities and make people realize the importance of recycling to the environment and its sustainability.

The prior aim, meets the Millennium Development Goals, promoted by United Nations, and is to create ecological awareness about a European and multicultural world by teaching our students how to create global efforts for sustainable development and help to achieve remarkable advances resulting in the improvement of the living conditions of millions of people. Students will have the opportunity to develop methods of problem solving, collaboration, creative thinking and communication skills, despite the cultural differences.

The project is aimed for students aged from 10 to 15. All partners believe that through the concrete and sustained actions on the school day, it will be able to bring together the literature, culture, history and heritage of each country through an appealing and creative language, motivating students to value their world. From the impact of small gestures of common sense, will take the students to develop an ecological awareness.
